CBES were commissioned by key customer ASDA to deliver power infrastructure upgrade to enable electric charging of their lorries at 6 of their major distribution centres throughout the UK. Due to new legislation surrounding the use of red diesel, and overall desire by the client to become more environmentally friendly and energy efficient we have installed industrial sockets for fleet trailers which will support the customer in their goals.

Our M&E team have now successfully completed rollout works to create the infrastructure for trailer hook up points at six ASDA depots, ranging from Falkirk in Scotland, Larne in Northern Ireland, Washington in North East, Skelmersdale in Central and both Erith and Bedford in the south, the latter schemes being the largest and most complex in the programme.

In a tightly focused schedule, the works started in July with Bedford and Erith starting within a week of each other. The programme was a challenging one with all sites running in parallel at one point, one of the main obstacles was the H&S element of work at height within the depots void areas, where this was being developed as the works commenced, our risk and compliance team work in close collaboration with the client and project managers to ensure all works were delivered safely.

Just wanted to drop you a quick mail to say how delighted we all were at how the electrical hook up installation programme went. In particular I would like to recognise Matt and both supervisors, they were all a great help who could not do enough to make sure the job went smoothly as possible.
