Food System Case Study

CBES have a long standing relationship with ASDA and provide installation and refurbishment of bakeries within the context of larger store refreshes and as standalone projects.

In 2021, our Food Systems team undertook bespoke projects for the following bakeries with our construction and M&E teams. Additionally we carried out a further 20 projects for other main contractors within the ASDA estate.

In each of the bakeries the following activities were undertaken
• Survey and scope the sites to evaluate changes and new equipment requirements.
• Design the new offer and ensure it meets future demands and sales expectations.
• Targeted asbestos surveys.
• Disconnect all mechanical & electrical services.
• Remove ceiling lights, sprinklers, Wi-fi & alarms
• Remove ceilings to allow access to ovens & extractors.
• Remove damaged or old equipment (Ovens, provers etc)
• Replace equipment note above.
• Make good nonslip resin floor (New equipment is generally smaller).
• Replace ceiling, lights sprinklers, wi-fi & alarms.
• Decorate as required.
• Commission equipment & train colleagues
