Fire & Security Systems Service Engineer

Location: East Scotland (Perth/Dundee), North East England (Newcastle), South East England (Exeter/Poole) and South London.

We are currently recruiting Fire & Security Service Engineers for our Security Systems division in various locations across the UK (East Scotland (Perth / Dundee), North East England (Newcastle), South East England (Exeter/Poole), and South London).

Suitable candidates should have a good working knowledge of CCTV (IP & Analogue), Intruder Alarms, Access Control and Fire Alarms. Fire Extinguisher Servicing and knowledge of Networks would be advantageous.

Previous experience of working within a retail Fire & Security Systems environment would be advantageous.

Duties and responsibilities of the role will be as follows:

  • Servicing and maintaining various intruder, CCTV and access control systems.
  • Carry out corrective and preventative maintenance of fire alarm systems, emergency lighting and portable extinguishers.
  • Working towards and exceeding maintenance and fault finding targets.
  • Demonstrate systems for customers, and explain details such as the causes and consequences of false alarms.
  • Be part of an On Call Rota for OOH callouts and telephone support.
  • Understanding the clients’ needs and fulfilling all jobs required
  • The post holder will ensure the health, safety and welfare of themselves and their team
  • To actively support at all times, company policy and best practice in the area of security, with particular emphasis on the protection of sensitive customer information
    • Requirements for the job:

  • Good communication skills
  • Good fault finding skills first time fix
  • A proven background and experience of working within Fire, CCTV, Intruder and Access Systems
  • Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of various intruder panels, eg Galaxy, Texecom.
  • Network/IP based product experience
  • Experience of undertaking service, repair work
  • Experience of conventional and addressable fire systems across a range of manufacturers equipment
  • Good overall fire product knowledge
  • Full driving license
  • ECS/CSCS card
  • IPAF License
